Let me introduce myself, by which I mean let me copy-paste my about section into a blog post (in my defence, there’s only so many times you can rewrite your own autobiography before your very veins fill with the icy chill of existential horror). As a result of this rushed job, the following segment is going to be written in the third person. At least I’m being honest.
Alex Aldred is the pen name of an author and poet currently living and working in Lancaster, England. He holds an MA in Creative Writing from Lancaster University, and will be embarking on a PhD in Creative Writing at the University of Edinburgh from September 2019.
His fiction has previously been published by journals and sites such as Coffin Bell, Daily Science Fiction, and the Molotov Cocktail. His poetry has previously been published by journals and sites such as the Cadaverine, Cathexis Northwest, and the Cordite Poetry Review.
In his spare time he enjoys participating in and running DnD campaigns, rewatching old episodes of Doctor Who, and trying to remember where he put his keys. At night, his stories climb out of his laptop and play tricks on him.
This website is going to be the hub of my creative output from now on, a great flailing octopus of information. There’s a couple of fun things already posted here, and I’m going to be posting more all the time (especially so for my patrons – see my support section for more information on how to join that cool-kids club). Keep your eyes on the site.
I’ll speak to you again soon, I’m sure. In the meantime – peace out dudes,
